Setareh and Salvador’s wedding at the Corinthian Event Center

Setareh and Salvador’s wedding was a lovely Persian ceremony to photograph. The bridegroom is Italian and his bride is Persian. I had first met her last summer. She had called me while she was waiting for her car to get service. I had some time right then so I offered to pick her up from the car dealership.  I brought her back to my studio so we can meet while her car was being serviced. I had a wonderful feeling from meeting Setareh right away and knew I wanted to photograph her wedding. The trouble was she didn’t have a date picked out yet so I kept my fingers crossed that I would have her date available when she finally picked it. It turns out that wasn’t going to be a problem at all because she had chosen a Wednesday to have her wedding at the Corinthian Event Center in downtown San Jose.

Notice the little girl in the middle of the picture? There was a mirror in front of her and she was in her own little world.

What really made this picture for me was the children walking by and checking out the bride.

After the ceremony we had a chance to do some portraits. Here are a few of the pictures from the shoot.

It was a beautiful reception that followed with rich colors, ornate decorations, and lots of dancing.

Everyone was having a great time!

Ten years ago, I left the mortgage and real estate business to pursue photography, which is a passion of mine. The mortgage business was excellent at that time but I was tired of it. I had a daughter that was just born and I wanted to do something that would allow me to spend more time with her and at the same time do what I wanted. I knew that I enjoyed people photography and soon discovered that I have a very real and special talent for it. I discovered that I was particularly good at capturing moments and revealing emotions through pictures. This came instinctively for me and allowed me to develop a style that was very comfortable for me to work in. My photography quickly became popular in the bay area and I've earned a large number of referral businesses as a result. In fact, i'd say I most of my business growth is the result of referrals from clients and online sites like Yelp. I currently have a studio in downtown San Jose and photograph weddings and portraits all over the bay area and California.
